Job Description

We are looking for a Construction Site Lab Technician responsible for field and laboratory testing of construction materials, ensuring compliance with IS codes, specifications, and quality standards.

Roles & Responsibilities

1. Conduct field and laboratory tests on construction materials including soil, aggregates, sand, cement, concrete and bricks.

2. Perform soil tests such as moisture content, field density (Core Cutter/Sand Replacement), sieve analysis and Proctor compaction tests.

3. Carry out concrete tests including slump test, cube casting, curing and compressive strength testing.

4. Test aggregates for gradation, impact value, crushing value and water absorption.

5. Ensure sampling, testing and reporting are done as per relevant IS codes and project specifications.

6. Maintain proper records of test results, registers and calibration certificates.

7. Coordinate with third-party laboratories for specialized testing when required.

8. Monitor concrete batching and ensure proper mix design implementation at site.

9. Raise Non-Conformance Reports (NCR) for failed tests and assist in corrective actions.

10. Maintain testing equipment, ensure periodic calibration and proper storage.

11. Assist QA/QC engineer in quality inspections and audits.

12. Verify material delivery against approved vendor list and test certificates.

13. Maintain daily, weekly and monthly quality reports.

14. Ensure compliance with safety procedures while performing tests.

15. Support site team during inspections by consultants and authorities.

Required Skills

● Knowledge of IS codes related to construction material testing

● Familiarity with lab equipment and testing procedures

● Computer skills (Excel, Word, reporting)

● Strong documentation and record-keeping ability

● Ability to work at construction site conditions

● Flexibility for Rostar Duties.

Selection Process: Written Test / Practical Test / Interview

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
