Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Label Technician / Production Technician to join our production team. This role is critical to our operations, with primary responsibility focused on operating and maintaining the AstroNova T2-C label printer to ensure high-quality label production.
In addition, this role will support cannabis production activities, assisting in the manufacturing and packaging of products including pre-rolls, gummies, vape cartridges, and topicals. The ideal candidate is hands-on, quality-driven, and comfortable working in a regulated production environment.
Key ResponsibilitiesLabel Production (Primary Focus)
- Operate the AstroNova T2-C label printer to produce high-quality labels in accordance with production schedules
- Set up print jobs, including loading substrates, inks, and configuring print settings
- Monitor print runs to ensure consistency, color accuracy, and quality standards
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on the T2-C printer to minimize downtime
- Inspect finished labels for defects and compliance requirements
- Maintain accurate production logs and documentation
Production Assistant – Cannabis Manufacturing
- Assist in the production and packaging of cannabis products including:
- Pre-rolls
- Gummies and other edibles
- Vape cartridges
- Topicals
- Weigh, fill, assemble, and package products according to SOPs and regulatory standards
- Apply labels and verify product accuracy and compliance
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of production areas
- Follow strict quality control and safety protocols at all times
- Support inventory handling and material preparation
Qualifications
- Experience operating digital printing equipment
- Experience in manufacturing or production environments (cannabis industry experience is an asset)
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality
- Ability to follow strict procedures and regulatory requirements
- Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Basic computer skills (file handling, print workflows)
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift production materials
Preferred Skills
- Experience in label manufacturing or packaging production
- Familiarity with cannabis industry regulations and compliance standards
- Knowledge of color management and print calibration
- Experience working in a regulated production environment
