The Administrative Specialist (Laboratory) plays a critical role in supporting the operational efficiency and regulatory compliance of the in-house New York State-certified Physician Office Laboratory (POL) within the Department of Medicine. This individual is responsible for executing a broad range of administrative and clerical tasks with high attention to detail, especially related to laboratory information systems (LIS), electronic medical records (EMR), and state-mandated documentation. Knowledge of EPIC EMR, LIS platforms, and familiarity with NYS Department of Health (DOH) regulations relevant to clinical laboratories.
The Administrative Specialist ensures smooth information flow between the lab, clinical staff, and regulatory bodies to optimize patient care and laboratory integrity.
Minimum Qualifications:Associates Degree or pertinent college level courses and three years of administrative/office management experience. Will consider equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications:Minimum 3 years of experience in a clinical or laboratory administrative role (preferably in a NYS POL setting), or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Work Days:Monday - Friday daytime hours
