Your Role:


We have an exciting new opportunity for a talented Laboratory Supervisor to join our Virology Team in Glasgow. Our Lab Supervisor is responsible for the day to day supervision of a team working within the lab, to support the conduct of contract GMP regulatory studies. Duties of the role entail scheduling of work and organising team training / development, 1-2-1’s, appraisals and other people management related tasks; adherence to health and safety policies, maintaining a safe and tidy work environment and ensuring equipment and facilities are maintained to the highest standards; assist with the performance of the lab procedures and provide scientific and technical support and coaching to the lab based team. The ability to maintain effective working relationships with study management and facilities personnel is critical for success in the role. You may also support regulatory studies in taking the role as Responsible Scientist.


Who you are:

  • You have a B.Sc. in a relevant scientific subject (or equivalent work experience)
  • Proven relevant industry experience in a scientific laboratory role including supervisory experience is essential, ideally in a GLP / GMP contract testing laboratory environment or related environment
  • Strongly focused on quality and safety, with excellent planning and organisational skills
  • You are self-motivated with strong initiative and drive
  • Ability to prioritise, work within a fast-paced environment and a solutions driven problem solver
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with competency in written and spoken English
  • Computer literacy is essential, ideally with prior knowledge of working with LIMS
