Job Summary:
Urban Life Solutions is currently hiring for a full-time Labourer to join our Landscape Maintenance division in Ottawa. Reporting to the Crew Lead/Site Supervisor, this role involves performing a variety of tasks related to the upkeep and maintenance of gardens, lawns, parks, and grounds across industrial, municipal, and commercial properties while delivering exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities:
Spread topsoil, lay sod, and plant flowers, grass, shrubs, and trees.

Perform landscape maintenance tasks including mowing, raking, aerating, dethatching, weeding, and pruning shrubs and trees.

Maintain lawns and landscaped areas along entire properties.

Operate and maintain landscaping equipment including string trimmers, riding mowers, leaf blowers, and sidewalk tractors.

Operate sidewalk tractors with various attachments for summer maintenance and winter snow removal on sidewalks and walkways.

Perform manual duties including lifting materials, general site cleanup, and assisting with landscape maintenance projects.

Check, clean, lubricate, and refuel equipment and report any issues to the Crew Lead or Site Supervisor.

Perform winter maintenance duties including snow clearing, salting, and hand shoveling where required.

Assist the Site Supervisor when required by supporting site safety, work quality, productivity, and completing required documentation.

When required, operate company truck and trailer to transport crew, equipment, and matrials to and from job sites.

Other duties as required.

Qualifications:
Must have a valid and current security clearance (reliability/secret).

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

1+ years of experience working in landscaping or construction.

Familiarity with tools and techniques for placing and finishing concrete and asphalt.

Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs and prolonged standing.

Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, snow).

Team-oriented attitude with a willingness to learn and take direction.

Valid G driver’s license is an asset; experience with small equipment (e.g., bobcats, compactors, sidewalk tractors) is a plus.

Pay: CA$20.00 – CA$24.00 per hour
