We are currently seeking to employ a Landowner Liaison Officer to our Line Services Southern team. In this role, you will provide the main point of contact between landowners, occupiers, local Omexom and Transpower, and to action and close out network and landowner issues relating to these stakeholders.

About the Role

  • Communicating with landowners, third parties and Transpower on works to be performed.
  • Negotiating and implementing all landowner agreements in respect of access and vegetation.
  • Advising on industry codes of practice, e.g., NZECP34, and Transpower related specifications and sending out relevant Transpower publications to landowners.
  • Reporting to Omexom and Transpower on actions identified and taken.
  • Carrying out all landowner interactions and ensuring that both Omexom and Transpower databases have up to date landowner interaction records.
  • Ensuring that all landowner notifications are within the specified time frame with regard to all and any work which may take place on their property.
  • Developing a relationship with landowners that will ensure that there is minimal disruption to the work crews when they require access to the work sites.
  • Interacting with all local and regional councils including developing a relationship with specific people in roles which may enhance the long-term relationship between Omexom and the councils.
  • Collaborate with managers to set vehicle specifications, source quotes and follow financial approval.
  • Procure, deliver, and hand over vehicles while recommending purchases or leases of new and replacement vehicles.
  • Conduct fleet inductions for staff receiving vehicles and ensure compliance with statutory regulations, including COF, WOF and equipment testing.
  • Organise fleet repairs, maintain plans, and compile monthly maintenance reports.
  • Ensure facilities are well maintained, compliant, and fit for purpose.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Effective and concise communication skills
  • Conflict resolution skills
  • An appreciation of the NZ Transmission line industry would be an advantage.
  • An appreciation of farming practices and cycles
  • A thorough understanding of relevant software and database programmes, e.g., Microsoft
  • An understanding of all stakeholder related documents, statutes, and regulations, particularly Transpower service specifications.
  • Understanding of NZ transport regulations and licensing
  • A knowledge of vehicle scheduled maintenance and compliance requirements.
