Job Location:

• Based in Calgary, Alberta.
• Travel to Edmonton and other locations in Alberta may be required (Wood Buffalo–Cold Lake Region excluded).
• Saunders Landscaping has sites located at various locations in the Calgary region and surrounding areas.
• Travel expenses are paid as per company policy.
• Financial support for relocation is available for out-of-province applicants, per company policy.

Wage:

• $36-$38/ hour (based on skills and experience/salary increases as per company policy)
• Bonuses provided based on performance
• Employee incentive program

Benefits: Health Spending Account after completing the 3-month probationary period

Employment terms and conditions: Seasonal employment, Full-time, 40 to 60 hours per week (weather-dependent), Morning, Days, Weekends, Overtime.

Job Requirements

Language: English

Experience: 5 years of landscaping experience

Ability to Supervise: 5 – 10 people

Transportation: Must be able and willing to obtain a driver's license

Own Tools/Equipment: Steel-toed safety boots, Hard hat

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Attention to detail, Handling heavy loads (up to 45 kg (100 lbs), Physically demanding, Manual dexterity, Bending, crouching, kneeling, Repetitive tasks, combination of sitting, standing, walking, Standing for extended periods, Ability to distinguish between colours

Work Site Environment: Outdoors, Work in all kinds of weather

Personal Suitability: Reliability, Organized, Team player, Effective interpersonal skills

Area of Work: Landscape design,Landscape construction, Fences, Decks,Interlocking brick, Automated irrigation system, Retaining Walls, Commercial and/or industrial construction, Institutional construction

Work Setting: Employer is aLandscape Contractor

Duties:

· Train and supervise crew members in daily tasks and safe work practices

· Complete safety paperwork and ensure compliance with company and industry standards

· Organize materials, equipment, and tools for projects

· Communicate with senior management regarding project progress, staffing, and resource needs

· Abide by Saunders Landscaping safety program

· Operate equipment

· Mentor labourers

· Drive company vehicle to and from job sites

· Perform the duties of workers being supervised:

o Plant and move trees

o Plan and construct landscaped environments, which may include trees, shrubberies, lawns, fences, decks, patios, pergolas, and other landscape structures

o Prepare base for and install pavers

o Plan the leveling and grading of loam

o Install, operate, and repair irrigation systems

o Construct retaining walls

o Read and interpret blueprints

o Landscaping plant identification
