We are currently seeking qualified Laser Cladding Technologists for our Cladding & Hardening Team at Fusion Laser. This position requires a high level of attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in robotics, welding processes and programming.
Key Skills & Job Requirements:
- Laser Cladding or Laser Hardening experience is preferred, but not necessary
- Experience running robots such as: ABB, Fanuc and even CNC machines
- Perform laser welding operations using various techniques and types of machines
- Ability to set up jobs and operate machines and tools
- CAD/CAM Programming experience (ex. AutoCAD, etc.) with the ability to program 3D modelling of jobs with Master Cam (or an equivalent software) is an asset
- Strong mechanical knowledge and understanding of welding principles is preferred
- Ability to monitor the speed and quality during the cladding and hardening process
- Inspect finished jobs for quality and accuracy
- Troubleshoot issues with machines or parts as needed
- Solid mechanical knowledge and understanding of machine operations
- Ability to perform physical requirements of the job such as: standing, walking for extended periods of time, bending, and lifting heavy objects (a maximum of 50 lbs.)
- Familiarity with use of a forklift and overhead crane (we will also provide training on both)
- Keep machines and surrounding workspace clean while maintaining a safe organized work environment
- Follow and adhere to all company policies and procedures
- Follow safety guidelines, procedures and practices when operating equipment
This is a full time hourly position, and we offer a very competitive wage package. Including an extensive health and dental benefits package, along with Company RRSPs with matching contributions.
