Laundry Worker provides a clean, sanitary, safe environment for clients/patients/residents, staff, and visitors. Provides laundry/linen-related services for clients/patients/residents and staff. Ensures the provision of the day-to-day activities of the Laundry Department, providing high quality services and high standards of cleanliness. Ensures that an adequate supply of linen is on hand and performs the job in accordance with current federal, state and local regulations and guidelines.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1) Ability to prioritize work assignments to complete tasks in a timely manner.
2) Ability to follow instructions.
3) Ability to clean and sanitize all assigned areas.
4) Ability to function with minimal supervision.
5) Ability to understand basic infection control procedures.
6) Ability to understand and carryout emergency evacuation, fire and safety procedures.
7) Ability to handle and mix chemicals safely and properly per manufacturer’s requirements.
8) Ability to operate computer operated washers and dryers.
9) Ability to recognize maintenance problems and report them immediately.
10) Ability to communicate with residents/family members should a concern or problem arise.
11) Must be able to identify printed names on clothing.
12) Understands the attached Physical Requirements for Essential Job Functions related to this
position.
13) Ability to perform other duties as assigned.

Must possess the ability to follow instructions, to work in a health care environment and conduct oneself in a professional manner. Previous experience is preferred but not required.

Physical Requirements:
1. Ability to walk, stand or sit for extended periods of time.
2. Ability to kneel, crawl, reach, and grasp including climbing a ladder.
3. Ability to be on call to come to center, work alternative hours including nights, weekends, and overtime when needed.
4. Ability to pull, push and lift up to 100 lbs.
5. Ability to work in adverse weather conditions as required, hot, wet, cold etc.
6. Ability to work in confined spaces.
