Laundry Operative/Housekeeping Assistant job responsibilities:
The Laundry Operative will:
- Maintain the laundry area to a high standard of organisation and cleanliness. Daily wash down washers, dryers and laundry tables, clean vents and mop floors
- Support the housekeeping staff in the completion of daily laundry within Moorehall Lodge Drogheda.
- Maintain a high standard of cleanliness of linen, towels and Residents' personal clothing, and to ensure an adequate supply of these items at all times
- Sort washing into Households and process it through the washer, drier and iron
- Perform minor repairs to Residents' clothing
- Ensure that all clothes are labelled with residents' names, are laundered and returned to the rightful owner
- Be responsible for the separate disinfection, washing, drying and storing of all cleaning clothes, mop heads etc. used in cleaning and disinfections processes throughout Moorehall Lodge Drogheda
- Perform a variety of cleaning activities such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, and polishing
- Ensure all rooms are cared for and inspected according to standards
- Protect equipment and make sure there are no inadequacies
- Notify superiors on any damages, deficits and disturbances
- Deal with reasonable complaints/requests with professionalism and patience
- Check stocking levels of all consumables and replace when appropriate
- Adhere strictly to rules regarding health and safety and be aware of any company-related practices
