This is why Te Whanau Care Home is searching for a Laundry Worker to join the team and make a real difference to the lives of our residents. We have 2 a permanent, part-time position working on a Monday to Sunday rotating roster shift pattern.
Role 1: Average 14 hours a week (84 hours over a 6-week roster), Timings: Mix of 8.00 am -11.00 am and 1.00 pm - 4.00 pm
Role 2: Average 14 hours a week (84 hours over a 6-week roster), Timings: 1.00 pm - 4.00 pm only
Where You Will Make an Impact
- Ensuring all care is taken with the residents' personal clothing and returned to owners.
- Operating all laundry equipment as specified.
- Meeting of daily schedule to keep laundry up to date and advising Manager of any issues that impact on the maintenance of this.
- Maintaining clean/dirty delineation areas within the laundry.
- Monitoring of linen supplies and advising line manager of replacement needs.
- Ensure all residents are treated with dignity and respect.
What About You
- Previous experience working in a commercial laundry is preferred, however not essential as we will provide training.
- Demonstrate a positive attitude, enthusiasm, strong empathy, and a passion for making a difference to our residents’ lives.
- You will be a team player, with the ability to work independently, and who is prepared to roll up your sleeves and get stuck into whatever needs to get done.
- Have reliable transport or travel arrangements.
- Applicants must be legally entitled to work in NZ.
