About Cover-More Travel Insurance in Australia

This role is part of our Cover-More Travel Insurance team in Australia. Cover-More Travel Insurance is Australia’s leading travel insurance and assistance provider and has protected Aussie travellers since 1986. Cover-More provides travel insurance through many well-known travel, airline, banking and retail brands and also direct to customers via covermore.com.au. We help safeguard travellers from the unexpected, and support them when medical, travel or security emergencies arise. We are here for our customers before, during and after they travel away from home, helping them feel safe, protected, and cared for every step of their journey.

What you’ll be doing:
Take on a pivotal leadership role and drive our engineering function to deliver high impact as we move forward into the future.

Lead the development team and drive the backend and frontend architecture

Lead the developers in the design, development, deployment and operation of services across the tech stack

Implement scalable technology processes and drive continuous improvement

Proactively raise risks with management and anticipate (technology) trends that may affect customer experience/satisfaction

Design and develop robust services in coordination with frontend developers

Coordinate technical projects across teams

What skills and experience you’ll bring on this journey:
10+ years’ experience in .NET/C# development and/or React

Strong understanding of software development lifestyle and Agile methodologies

Experience mentoring/managing junior team members and working with cross-functional teams

Extensive experience with debugging and troubleshooting tools

Experience with microservices architecture, including design, development and deployment

Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure

Experience implementing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and automating build, test, and deployment processes

Strong understanding of DevOps practices, with the ability to drive improvements in engineering culture, automation, and modern delivery practices
