Job Description: Lead Lathe Programmer / Machinist

At eTEK Precision Manufacturing, we value precision, quality, accountability, and teamwork. Our ISO 9001:2015 and ITAR-registered shop in Cedarburg, WI is clean, climate-controlled, and equipped with late-model Miyano lathes and other advanced machines.

We’re looking for an experienced Lead Lathe Programmer / Machinist who takes pride in producing high-quality parts, can help lead jobs through the shop, and wants to grow with a company that respects skill, ownership, and accountability.

This is a hands-on lead position for someone who can program, set up, troubleshoot, and run CNC lathes while also helping plan jobs, manage tooling needs, estimate cycle times, and make sure work gets completed accurately and on schedule.

What You’ll Do

Program, set up, and operate Miyano lathes with Mitsubishi controls and bar feeders.

Act as a lead person for lathe work, helping ensure jobs are planned, prepared, and completed on time.

Review upcoming jobs and assist with pre-planning, including tooling, material, setup needs, and process flow.

Be responsible for tooling needs, including tool selection, organization, availability, and helping improve tool life and performance.

Provide cycle time estimates and help identify ways to improve efficiency and reduce downtime.

Perform first article inspections and make offset adjustments.

Troubleshoot setups, tooling issues, programs, machine problems, and part-quality concerns.

Load bar stock and maintain production efficiency.

Keep accurate inspection and production records.

Help coordinate priorities and keep work moving through the department.

Contribute to continuous improvement and maintain a safe, clean, and organized workspace.

Perform machine maintenance tasks as needed.

Other tasks as assigned.

What You Bring

Experience programming, setting up, and running CNC lathes with bar feeders.

Strong experience with Miyano lathes and Mitsubishi controls preferred.

Ability to take ownership of jobs from planning through production.

Strong mechanical aptitude, blueprint reading, GD&T, and precision measurement skills.

Experience selecting and managing tooling for CNC lathe work.

Ability to estimate cycle times and identify process improvements.

Strong troubleshooting skills.

Self-motivated, reliable, accountable, and able to help keep others on task.

Good communication skills and the ability to work with management, quality, and production teams.

Physical: Able to stand for full shifts and lift up to 50 lbs as needed.

Schedule

First Shift, Monday through Friday, 6am–2pm.

Overtime available.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $27.00 - $40.00 per hour
