About the Role
The role works in partnership with clinical leads to proactively promote early engagement with women and whaanau that require access to the Colposcopy Screening Service. In this role, you will perform examinations, provide patient education, and collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure the highest quality of care.
About the Team/Service/ Location
The role is based in the Outpatients Department at Timaru Hospital and works alongside the Outpatients nursing team and the Timaru Gynaecology team.
About you
The Lead Colposcopy Nurse responsible for enhancing the quality of care provided to women accessing the Colposcopy Screening Service by co-ordinating and leading the provision of responsive, evidence based culturally appropriate care. The role requires advanced clinical knowledge and applied reasoning. Other skills required are"
- NZ Registered Nurse with current APC
- 5 + years experience, post registration, with relevant experience in a Colposcopy Service
- Experience in NZ cervical screening programme
- Competency with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth
- Experience in projects / initiatives which give effect to Te Tiriti principals and frameworks, and the application of Mātauranga Māori and Kaupapa Māori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings.

Salary Range
This role is covered by the terms and conditions of the Nursing Collective and the salary will be in accordance with the Pay Scale, and dependent on relevant experience.
