Job Overview/Purpose:
As an impactful Senior Learning Consultant CBNZ working within the HR team NZ, and the regional People, Culture and Talent Team, you will lead the learning and development advice and solutions, including technical capability for our people in Country Banking New Zealand (CBNZ) community and wider NZ business.

Through our Australia & New Zealand Rabobank business & people strategy framework we implement value add solutions, practices and processes that facilitate the achievement of the organisations goals. Conducting learning needs analysis, solution design, program development and facilitation and coaching of Learning & Development programs to address business, performance, team and capability gaps within our business units and teams. Advise the business on training plans, communication & prioritisation.
Context of Job:
The HR NZ team delivering on the People Plan for NZ across HR, learning and development. People, Talent and Culture sits within the wider RANZ Human Resources Division.
The team oversees a number of key functions including: learning support and initiatives; development of leadership capability of our people; development of technical capability of our people; strategic planning for our workforce; embedding the principles of diversity & inclusion throughout the organisation. In undertaking these activities, the team contributes to a number of the key strategic priorities of Regional, Australia and New Zealand including “Empower employees who live the standards”, “Leverage our knowledge and network to drive our impact” and “Being commercial and in control (everyone, at all levels)”.
The Senior Learning Consultant CBNZ will make a valuable contribution to the team’s activities, in particular those that relate to learning initiatives.
Country Banking NZ employees located in Regional offices (Agribusiness Analysts, Area Administration Analyst and Agribusiness Associates) deal with a number of systems and processes in their day to day work and these areas have been identified as a key need for ongoing up-skilling.
There are a number of systems development changes underway that will have a learning and upskill component to them. Changes are driven and managed from projects generally based outside New Zealand and this role will need to be across these updates on behalf of the NZ business.
Employees work with and in principle collaborate nationally to support a large network with a total staff number of approximately 521 employees in Rabobank New Zealand.
The challenge of the role is to enhance staff systems skills/knowledge and end to end process skills to deliver improved efficiencies for our clients.
The role will involve extensive travel with several days stay in offices/regions across NZ throughout the year. There may also be some travel to Australia.
The Senior Learning Consultant CBNZ will have sound training, facilitation and delivery skills. It is preferable the Senior Learning Consultant CBNZ has several years' experience in banking sector in a similar role delivering training.
Deep existing knowledge of the CBNZ Agri banking roles requirements and familiarity with our clients, culture and practices would be invaluable in gaining trust and having influence at the office/regional level and be a key factor in successful transfer of the training contents/knowledge. Sound knowledge of Country Banking skills, processes and systems supports capability solutions with the right outcomes.
- Operates with a One-Rabo and One HR Team approach. Constructively contributes to the HR NZ, and People Development and Strategic Workforce Management Team.
- Develop and lead a learning strategy for Country Banking New Zealand with the Leadership, learning Manager.
- Contribute to the Rabobank New Zealand Graduate programme, supporting the programme manager in the delivery of workshops, technical content and programme requirements
- Develop on the job induction solutions to support managers and new starters in Country Banking New Zealand.
- Undertake training needs analysis for CBNZ and other function as required and identify job families, career pathways and skils required for the future
- Conducts training needs analysis by collecting information pertaining to work procedures, work flow, clients and reports; understanding job-specific functions and tasks to make training recommendation and plans.
- Collects information on new staff members, starting dates and development needs.
- Determines utilisation requirements by researching systems cycle times in Country Banking processes in conjunction with Operational Excellence teams .
- Designs training solutions by identifying and describing information needs; using desktop publishing; submitting initial versions for review; revising and editing final copy with business input.
- Acts as a SME for design on materials including facilitator guides and participant materials.
- Develops and designs e-learning using Articulate in order to embed, follow up and ensure longevity of our training solutions for our regional business.
- Coordinates and leads the creation or and problem solving solutions for workplace training on job and company specific software applications, procedures and workflow processes.
- Provide guidance to manageres & other stakeholders in Selecting training method best suited to audience, location, objectives and cost (face to face, group learning webinars teleconferences, e-learning).
- Evaluates training by evaluating effectiveness of training to specific job applications & objectives through both quantitative and qualitative data.
- Develops conclusions and insights based on data and makes meaningful recommendations for future impact, training & communication.
- Designs and develops learning to support the Bank and people strategies.
- Understands how to future proof blended learning.
- As required supports the delivery of induction and other banking training such as compliance when requested by the General Manager HR
- Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing publications.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing individual and team objectives
- Interacts with all staff in manner consistent with our values
- Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organisational standards.
- Support CBNZ Leadership team & other SME’s in the development and delivery of learning solutions for CBNZ
- Develop and facilitate team effectiveness, and personal effectiveness sessions with CBNZ staff (Strengths and DISC)
- Consult on procedural changes, proof read or develop procedures for new technical processes
- Deliver leadership coaching on people development, leadership, and debrief leadership assessments with individuals
- Support culture initiatives.

- Collaborate with other non CBNZ stakeholders to coordinate and
- Work with HRBMs in the identification of learning needs, and support the talent & performance functions when needed
- Provide reporting, data and other analytics to help support learning functions within NZ

- At least 6years’ training/facilitation experience in a corporate or large complex environment and/or
- At least 2-3 years in client facing role in banking sector. and/or
- At least 2 years in a learning consultant role proving learning needs analysis, design, management, facilitation or delivery of programmes

Qualifications:
- Commerce degree (desirable)
Essential:
- Advanced use of Rabobank systems and processes - CMS+, MAPS, T24, RIBS OR ability to engage with Stakeholders and SME’s who can provide technical content
- Microsoft packages, including intermediate level Excel skills & Powerpoint
Desirable:
- A familiarity with banking business processes and practices.
- Adult education training qualification.
- Instructional design capability or ability to learn this skill.
- Experience of working in a global, matrix environment.
