Lead Data Analyst

POSITION DESCRIPTION | Lead Data Analyst

Reports to: Chief Product Officer

Purpose: Promote the understanding and use of data to inform product development, go-to-market model/s, and leads the scaling of our data function.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead & advocate for data understanding across Mosh. You’ll partner with various teams to truly democratise data, gathering the business requirements then educating teams on self-service best practices and help them identify key insights
  • Champion Mosh’s experimentation framework, identifying statistical significance and incrementality of strategic initiatives across Product and Marketing
  • Lead the data team in BI dashboarding solutions and delivery. Proactively identify business opportunities and collaborate with teams across Mosh (including Finance, Marketing, Engineering, Operations and Product) to gather data requirements and provide data-driven insights to inform strategy and tactical initiatives
  • Develop LookML models and uplift our analytical platforms. Practising and supporting the data team in ensuring optimal code standards and modelling techniques are enforced
  • You’ll also help develop our data governance practices, inclusive of mapping upstream to downstream services, uplifting monitorability of data quality and ensuring a sustainable BI solution
  • Ownership of the data platform: You’ll partner with Engineering teams to scope data requirements and support data delivery, including the development of our event-based data (i.e. Segment)
  • Develop a strong understanding of Mosh’s data needs, planning and advocating to embed data into the business to support the scaling of the business and growing the data team

Qualifications and/or Experience Required:

  • You have at least 5+ years of data analytics experience (or similar), preferably in a senior or lead capacity at a tech, or a medical-tech company. You’re able to demonstrate and speak to how your work contributed to your company’s success
  • You’re an expert in BI tooling (eg: Looker), CDP tools (e.g. Segment/Amplitude), data warehousing (Redshift/Snowflake) and have familiarity with Modelling and Orchestration. Experience with LookML would be a plus
  • You over-communicate, have excellent presentation skills, and distil information to the right level of detail, including the ability to ensure non-technical people can understand complex concepts
  • You think through problems systematically, design future proof plans and spot potential edge cases a mile away
  • You think from first principles, use strong critical & analytical thinking and have the ability to take complex data sets and draw meaningful insights from them
  • You can work independently and collaboratively with your team members, balancing multiple priorities in a fast paced environment
  • A bonus if you have experience with product analytics, business analysis or project management, or if you have experience building Machine Learning (ML) and/or predictive models

  • Demonstrates mastery in SQL, Hevo & Looker to deliver on proactive & reactive requests within an agreed upon timeframe
  • Receives positive, ongoing feedback from their colleagues

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $100,000.00 – $130,000.00 per year

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
