Lead Surgical Assistant

We are looking for an experienced candidate to join our team in the role of Lead Oral Surgery Dental Assistant. The Lead Surgical Assistant will be responsible for coordinating the clinical schedule for the doctors at our oral surgery practice, providing guidance to our clinical team and ensuring the highest quality of patient care. The candidate must have experience leading a dental team effectively.

Professionalism, efficiency, and experience are a must. Oral surgery experience is preferred but not required. This position provides opportunities for career advancement and growth in both professional and financial aspects.

Duties will include:

  • Coordinating with doctors to ensure efficient clinical schedule and smooth patient flow;
  • Overseeing the clinical schedule and coordinating all aspects of clinical workflow, including patient care, safety and efficiency;
  • Ensuring delivery of exceptional quality of patient care;
  • Fostering strong channels of communication across all levels of the practice (with a special focus on excellent communication between front & back teams to ensure seamless patient care);
  • Responsible for overseeing and leading team members, and training;
  • Overseeing OSHA/HIPAA officers;
  • Compassionate and attentive patient care including educating patients on pre- and post-operative care;
  • Overseeing and maintaining supplies and inventory, anticipating supply needs; placing and expediting orders, verifying receipt of supplies and ensuring overall system efficiency;
  • Assisting oral surgeon with surgical procedures (IV Sedation and General Anesthesia) and patient consultations;
  • Preparing treatment rooms following prescribed procedures and protocols;
  • Sterilization and delivery of instruments to treatment area, positioning of instruments, suctioning and passing instruments to oral surgeon.

Additional Qualifications:

  • X-ray certification
  • CPR Certification
  • DAANCE Certification preferred but not essential
  • CT Scanner/Intraoral Scanner experience
  • RDA/CDA preferred but not essential if candidate has a track record of experience.

Office hours are Monday through Thursday 7:00 am to 4:30 pm and Friday 7:00 am to 1:00 pm.
