The Digital Workplace Platforms team is responsible for developing, maintaining, and securing the Digital Workplace solutions at KONE. Our scope includes platforms for managing workstations, mobile devices, Microsoft 365 and directory services.

Lead Developer, Data Movement & Integrations
The Lead Developer in Data Movement & Integrations works in the data movement and integration DevOps team, developing the data engineering and integration solutions needed for seamless data flow.
This role emphasizes best practices in AWS cloud development, leveraging fit-for-purpose technical services to deliver secure, scalable, and high-performance solutions. Collaborating closely with data integration solution experts and cross-functional colleagues, the Lead Developer implements solutions aligned with KONE’s data foundation target architecture.
This position is based in Espoo, Finland.
Main Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain AWS cloud-based data integration solutions.
- Build secure, scalable, and cost-effective architectures using cloud-native services.
- Collaborate with product teams, solution experts, and stakeholders to implement end-to-end data movement solutions.
- Develop APIs and data pipelines using AWS services, ensuring quality, automation, and reusability.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, backlog grooming, and quarterly planning.
- Ensure robust documentation and compliance with KONE’s data and security standards.
- Monitor, test, and optimize solutions across all environments, especially production.
- Promote best engineering practices and continuous improvement within the DevOps team.
- Travel as needed to engage with global stakeholders.
Requirements for the Role:
- Minimum 4 years of technical experience as a data engineer, ETL developer, database administrator, or AWS API developer.
- Proficiency in AWS services , including:
- Compute & Networking: AWS Lambda, Lambda Layers, ECS, EC2.
- Integration & APIs: AWS API Gateway, IAM, S3, KMS, DynamoDB, MSK.
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC): AWS CloudFormation, AWS CDK.
- Monitoring & Logging: AWS CloudWatch.
- CI/CD & DevOps: Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions.
- Hands-on development experience in integration design and coding: OpenAPI, RAML, RestAPI, Messaging services, File transfer, webhooks, web applications, etc.
- Nice-to-have skills:
- Workflow & Data Processing: Apache Airflow, AWS AppFlow, AWS Glue, Athena.
- Real-time Streaming & Messaging: AWS Kinesis, SNS, SQS.
- Security & Systems Management: AWS Cognito, Systems Manager, Security Hub.
- Strong collaboration and emotional intelligence skills; ability to work both independently and in cross-functional teams.
- Excellent team player; receptive to feedback and committed to continuous improvement.
- Experience working in Agile and/or DevOps teams.
- Eagerness to learn new technologies related to AWS data movement, integration, and API development, with a solid understanding of KONE’s business and IT data context.
- Familiarity with major enterprise applications such as SAP, Qlik SaaS, Salesforce, Workday, etc.
- Excellent verbal and written communication in English, with the ability to present complex content clearly and concisely.
