The Sales Operations team plays a pivotal role in enabling and empowering our sales and client-facing colleagues. By operationalising sales enablement activity, improving processes, and enhancing commercial effectiveness, we directly contribute to the firm’s growth ambitions and client success.

The Role

This role is responsible for direct telephone outreach to prospective clients. The primary objective is to grow the client base in terms of volume and revenue. Key performance metrics will be based on the volume of outbound phone activity, opportunities created as well as revenue won.

You will be expected to identify key decision makers in organisations, pursue and generate sales opportunities, connecting the relevant WTW specialist as opportunities emerge. We are looking for someone who is target driven, autonomous, tenacious and has an entrepreneurial attitude.

  • Lead and generate a sales pipeline that supports the achievement of local revenue goals

  • Research prospective client organisations to identify key insurance buyers and decision makers

  • Direct telephone outreach to establish connections with key buyers

  • Supplement telephone outreach with email and social media marketing to maximise conversion rate

  • Nurture relationships with prospective clients and identify relevant sales opportunities

  • Serve as a door-opener, arranging meetings to introduce specialist WTW colleagues to close sales opportunities

  • Develop relationships with WTW colleagues to understand the WTW proposition and to make relevant and timely introductions

  • Capture key sales insights and manage outbound activity in the CRM system

Qualifications

What you’ll bring

  • Previous experience in a telephone-based sales or lead generation role (insurance organisation/call centre environment would be desirable)
  • Strong research skills, including the ability to identify decision makers and map organisations
  • Proven ability to independently develop and manage a large, high-quality sales pipeline
  • Excellent communication skills, with confidence speaking to stakeholders at all organisational levels
  • Highly self motivated, resilient, and target-driven, with the ability to handle rejection positively
  • Strong follow-through, discipline, and personal accountability for results
  • Proficiency with Microsoft applications, particularly Outlook (Excel and Teams desirable)
  • Experience using a CRM system is advantageous, particularly Microsoft Dynamics
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all interactions and CRM updates
  • Desire to learn, develop, and continuously improve
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, pressurised, but supportive environment
  • Ability to support marketing campaigns by building prospect lists, conducting outbound outreach, and providing structured feedback
