Lead Gymnastics Coach

As a Gymnastics Coach, you will be leading and assisting in our after-school gymnastics classes in Esher and the surrounding areas.

Term time sessions are in local schools Monday – Friday. Times vary from 3.15pm-4.15pm and 3.30 – 4.30pm.

Holiday Camps run in the school holidays Monday to Friday.

There is also potential work on Saturday mornings and early evenings.

Roles and Responsibilities

This is a self-employed position.

As a Lead Gymnastics coach, you will be responsible for a group of up to 15 children of similar ages to coach gymnastics at an introductory and intermediate level.

Assistant coaches will be working with lead coaches at the sessions.

You will be developing flexibility, strength, and coordination for gymnastics, teaching children floor skills such as rolls, jumps, balances, handstands, cartwheels, walkovers, handsprings and more. There will be floor routines with connective elements work and mastering skills on a variety of gymnastic apparatus – beams, bars, vaults, rings and bars (venue dependent).

• Bringing energy and enthusiasm to every session.
• Being professional in your interactions with children, parents, colleagues, and schools.
• Being on time for all sessions
• Assisting with the safe set up and packing away of equipment, ensuring all equipment is stored safely.
• Teaching relevant skills, progressions, and techniques
• Talking with parents about the progress of their children, when necessary
• Making sure health and safety procedures are being followed
• Being familiar with and following all club policies and procedure

Requirements

Coaches with British Gymnastics Qualifications Level 1, 2 or higher will be preferred

Previous experience coaching is preferred

Enhanced DBS required but can be applied for

Reliable, committed and punctual

Good communication skills

Enjoys working with children

You must be eligible to work in the UK

You must be able to speak English fluently

You must be currently living within a commutable distance of this position

Pay: £16.00-£24.00 per hour
