Borderless Corp is a vertically-integrated construction technology company and licensed General Contractor based in Maple, Ontario. We design, manufacture, and install panelized wood-frame building assemblies for Missing Middle housing — the laneway homes, garden suites, multiplexes, and low-rise apartment buildings that Canadian cities are racing to deliver.

Our work is hands-on, technical, and visible. Every panel that leaves our shop becomes part of someone's home. We are growing our manufacturing team and looking for an experienced, safety-minded Lead Hand to run the floor and the jobsite — someone who can read the drawings, set the pace, keep quality tight, and bring a crew along with them.

The role

You will lead day-to-day production on our Maple shop floor, working from shop drawings to build wall, floor, and roof panel assemblies to spec and on schedule. You are the first point of contact for the labourers and shop technicians on your line: assigning work, checking quality, coaching new hires, and keeping the shop safe and organized. You will also travel periodically with our installation crews to active jobsites across Toronto and the GTA to lead panel offload, placement, and on-site framing. You report directly to shop management and play a key role in how we build, train, and grow.

What you'll do

• Lead a small crew through daily framing, sheathing, and finishing of wall, floor, and roof panel assemblies in our Maple shop.
• Read and interpret shop drawings and cut lists; lay out, set up, and verify work before and during production.
• Perform in-process and final quality checks on panel assemblies in accordance with our ISO 9001 / CSA A277 quality procedures, and document results.
• Assign daily tasks, set production priorities, and keep the line moving to meet delivery schedules.
• Train and mentor General Labourers on tools, techniques, and safe work practices.
• Operate hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment — saws, drills, impact drivers, nail guns — safely and accurately, and model correct use for the team.
• Coordinate material staging, panel loading, and truck dispatch for jobsite deliveries.
• Travel with the install crew to GTA jobsites to lead panel offload, placement, and on-site framing support.
• Enforce housekeeping, PPE, and safety procedures on the floor; identify and escalate hazards, near-misses, and quality issues.
• Communicate daily with shop management on production status, staffing, materials, and equipment needs.

What we're looking for

• 3+ years of experience in residential framing, carpentry, panel/modular manufacturing, or a closely related trade.
• Demonstrated experience leading, training, or coordinating a small crew (formal Lead Hand or foreman experience is a strong asset).
• Confident reading framing drawings, shop drawings, and cut lists, and translating them into accurate, efficient production.
• A strong personal safety record and the credibility to hold a crew to high safety and quality standards.
• Physically fit and comfortable lifting up to 50 lbs and being on your feet all day.
• Clear verbal and written communication in English — with your crew, with management, and in quality documentation.
• Reliable transportation to our Maple facility.
• Legally eligible to work in Canada.

Nice to have (not required)

• Current WHMIS 2015 and Working at Heights certification (or willingness to certify promptly — training provided).
• Forklift licence.
• Standard First Aid / CPR-C.
• Valid Class G Ontario driver's licence.
• Experience working within an ISO 9001 or CSA A277 certified production environment.
• Experience with panelized, prefabricated, or factory-built construction methods.
