Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Low Voltage Technician to oversee and execute complex low voltage systems installations, maintenance, and troubleshooting. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in security, surveillance, fire alarm systems, and telecommunication networks. This leadership role requires a strong technical background combined with excellent field service skills to ensure the successful delivery of projects and ongoing system performance. The Lead Low Voltage Technician will coordinate team activities, ensure compliance with industry standards, and provide expert guidance on system design and integration.
Duties
- Lead installation, testing, and troubleshooting of low voltage systems including CCTV, sensors, IDS, fire alarms, security systems, and telecommunication infrastructure.
- Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals to accurately install and service systems.
- Manage cabling, wiring, and power tool operations to ensure safe and efficient work practices.
- Oversee system design modifications and upgrades utilizing knowledge of NEC codes and industry best practices.
- Coordinate field service activities across multiple sites ensuring timely completion of projects.
- Provide technical support for remote access software, security system integration, and system configuration.
- Conduct site surveys to assess project scope and develop detailed installation plans.
- Train and mentor junior technicians on technical procedures, safety protocols, and customer service standards.
- Ensure all work complies with safety regulations including proper handling of electrical components and use of hand tools.
- Assist in sales efforts related to alarm system sales by providing technical expertise during client consultations.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Service Technician or Lead Low Voltage Technician with a strong background in security systems, CCTV surveillance, fire alarms, sensors, IDS, and telecommunication systems.
- Extensive knowledge of low-voltage wiring, cabling techniques, schematics interpretation, and NEC standards.
- Proficiency with computer networking concepts, remote access software, system design principles, and electrical experience related to low-voltage systems.
- Mechanical knowledge relevant to construction sites or facility environments.
- Hands-on experience with power tools, hand tools, locksmithing techniques, and installation hardware.
- Familiarity with alarm system sales processes is a plus.
- Ability to read technical schematics and wiring diagrams accurately.
- Strong field service skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues efficiently on-site.
- Excellent leadership qualities with the ability to supervise teams effectively while maintaining safety standards.
- Valid driver’s license required; willingness to travel between job sites as needed. This position offers an exciting opportunity for experienced technicians eager to lead projects while applying their technical expertise in a dynamic environment focused on security technology solutions.
- This is a 100% traveling position. Must be able to travel to 49+ states.
- This is a 1099 position. Must be able to provide GL/Workman's Comp Insurance.
- A technician must have their own networking tools; if you do not have the necessary tools, they must be obtained promptly.
- Must have a harness and a lanyard.
- Must be willing to learn and receive direction to meet standards.
- Must meet minimum daily requirements, such as daily reports submitted, minimum required work performed, maintaining standards, cleanliness, and professional appearance.

We offer hourly pay, per diem, mileage, travel, and more. Raises are performance-based.
