Overview
We are seeking an energetic and dedicated Lead Pre-K Teacher to inspire and nurture the youngest learners in our early childhood education program. In this vital role, you will lead classroom activities, develop engaging curricula, and foster a positive, inclusive environment that promotes child development and learning. Your passion for early childhood education and your ability to connect with children, families, and colleagues will be essential to creating a vibrant learning community. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to shape the educational foundation of young children while working in a supportive and dynamic setting.
*Must have prior childcare experience, and familiarity with lead role responsibilities!
Responsibilities
- Design and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans that incorporate curriculum development principles, including literacy education, and Montessori methods.
- Lead classroom activities focused on child development instruction, behavior management, and classroom management strategies to create a safe, engaging learning environment.
- Collaborate with families through clear communication about their child's progress, milestones, and any concerns related to childhood development or special education needs.
- Ensure compliance with mandated reporting laws and child welfare standards by accurately documenting observations and incidents.
- Incorporate early intervention techniques to support children with diverse needs, including those requiring additional support in preschool or toddler care settings.
- Maintain a clean, organized classroom environment that promotes active learning and adheres to health and safety standards such as first aid and CPR certification.
- Participate in ongoing professional development related to preschool teaching, standardized testing, tutoring strategies, and early childhood education best practices.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working with children in preschool or daycare settings; prior classroom experience is highly valued.
- Strong knowledge of childhood development principles, behavior management techniques, and classroom management best practices.
- Demonstrated ability to develop engaging curricula that support literacy education, math skills, and social-emotional growth.
- Experience working with children requiring special education or early intervention services is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills for effective parent communication and team collaboration.
- Knowledge of Montessori methods or experience teaching physical education is a plus.
- A passion for early childhood education combined with patience, creativity, and a proactive approach to teaching young learners.

Pay: $16.50 - $22.00 per hour

- High school or equivalent (Required)
Experience:
- childcare: 2 years (Required)
License/Certification:
