Role: Lead Silversmith

Reports to: Studio Manager

Job Summary:

In alignment with the Gem studios mission to deliver magical, hands-on jewelry experiences that turn guests into lifelong raving fans, quality and exceptional guest engagement are priorities shared by every team member in this position.

Reporting to the studio manager, the Lead Silversmith oversees and supports the delivery of extraordinary workshops while ensuring a safe, engaging and fun environment for guests and the team. Responsibilities include facilitating and leading workshops, assisting with daily operations, coaching silversmiths, maintaining studio safety and organization, and upholding the Gem studio's positive culture.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate and lead the Gem Studio's workshop flow, including the welcome series, price and brand presentation, sweet 16, and send off.
  • Create seating charts, assign silversmiths with Acuity, and manage silversmith call offs at the 2 hour cutoff.
  • Ensure all guests are tagged and checked in accurately for each workshop.
  • Support silversmiths with issues during workshops, ensure check offs at pickle, after stone setting and burnishing stations.
  • Coach and support silversmiths in upselling second pieces and upgrades naturally while ensuring clear pricing conversations.
  • Demonstrate and monitor safe handling of silversmithing tools, including torches, and ensure team adherence to safety standards.
  • Maintain consistency in workshop delivery by demonstrating and overseeing sweet 16 steps with the team.
  • Submit nightly lead reports and workshop closeout forms promptly.
  • Manage bank deposits at the end of shift as required.
  • Assist with deep cleaning, inventory management, remakes, and shipping tasks to support smooth daily operations.
  • Train new silversmiths when requested, ensuring high standards in guest experience and safety.
  • Work scheduled hours, arrive early to prepare the studio and stay until all operational tasks are completed.
  • Attend meetings, communicate proactively with the studio manager and contribute to a positive supportive studio environment.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

  • Ability to engage with guests positively, ensuring they feel seen, celebrated and cared for while supporting your team.
  • Ability to stay organized, proactive, and manage priorities in a fast paced, guest centered environment.
  • Ability to confidently and safely handle silversmithing tools and equipment while maintaining safety for yourself, guests and your team.
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods and safely support hands on workshop operations with care.
  • Ability to contribute to a positive, team centered environment in alignment with the Gem studios values of kindness, energy and creating magical guests' experiences while upholding a gossip free workplace culture.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.00-$21.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
