Who We Are:We are committed to a mastery-based, learner-centered approach that empowers every learner to excel academically and thrive personally. We believe that when education is tailored to a learner’s unique strengths, there is no limit to what they can achieve.

Our vision is to cultivate an inclusive, thoughtfully designed environment where learners flourish academically, socially, and emotionally. By intentionally breaking down the systemic barriers found in traditional schooling, we create a space where success is accessible to all.

While we are a public school open to all Nashville learners, we are deeply dedicated to being a true neighborhood pillar. Our primary focus is serving the learners and families within the Pearl-Cohn and Whites Creek Clusters.

Our Teammates:

  • A Captain of Joy: We need teammates who are committed to bringing joy to our kids and our school every single day. You understand that a joyful environment is the foundation for rigorous learning.
  • Systems-Oriented Team Player: You recognize that strong, school-wide systems and procedures are the backbone of a thriving school community. You are a team player who consistently implements shared practices to ensure a predictable and safe environment for all learners.
  • A Deep Belief in Learner Potential: An unwavering conviction that every child can achieve high levels of academic and personal success.
  • Radical Self-Awareness: The ability to reflect honestly on your own practice, a hunger for feedback, and the agility to implement it immediately.
  • Data-Driven Flexibility: A high level of responsiveness to data and systems, with a commitment to adjusting in real-time based on performance.
  • Partnership Mindset: A fundamental belief that strong relationships with parents and families are critical to the success of our learners and the school.
  • The "Willingness to Try": A growth mindset that embraces new! You are down for "trial and error" inherent in a high-growth, startup environment.
  • Continuous Improvement: A commitment to being a critical thought partner in pursuit of our school’s mission and vision.

The LEARN Mission

Our LEARN Coaches embody five core pillars to help LEARNers bridge the gap between where they are and who they are meant to be:

  • Lead: We model good choices for our peers by meeting school expectations. We make everyone feel included. We follow through on commitments and give our all to finish tasks.
  • Excel: We actively listen to instruction and contribute to discussions. We accept feedback and turn it around quickly. We believe we are smart. We think and say kind things about our brains.
  • Appreciate: We appreciate our school. We take care of our materials and keep the building clean. We appreciate our community. We say thank you to people when they do something kind for us. we appreciate differences. We ask questions about people to learn more about them. We thank them for sharing.
  • Restore: when someone does something we don’t like, we tell them in a clear and respectful way. We take apologies seriously and only apologize if we truly mean it and have a plan to make it better.
  • Nurture: We respect the learning environment so that we all can grow our brains. We show care for all, not just our friends. We understand that people have hard
  • moments. We support them through them.

The Job:

1. Classroom Push-In & Support

  • Individual Learner Support: Actively engage within the classroom to provide immediate support, helping learners navigate social-emotional hurdles without removing them from their learning environment.
  • Behavioral Skill Building: Identify specific behavioral gaps and implement Tier 2 and Tier 3 interventions rooted in evidence-based practices.
  • Collaboration: Partner with educators to modify environments and strategies that support neurodivergent or trauma-impacted learners.

2. RESTORE Room Support

  • Guided Reflection: Manage the RESTORE Room as a transformation hub, facilitating deep reflection that helps learners understand the impact of their choices.
  • Targeted Instruction: Teach the "missing skills,” such as impulse control, conflict resolution, or emotional regulation, that led to the behavioral gap.
  • Relationship Healing: Facilitate restorative circles and mediations to mend the harm caused by actions and ensure a positive return to the community.
  • Regulated Re-entry: Ensure every learner is emotionally grounded and has a concrete plan before transitioning back to class.

Who You Are

  • A "Warm Demander": You lead with unconditional positive regard but maintain high expectations for growth.
  • Resilient & Patient: You don’t take "pushed buttons" personally. You have a thick skin, a calm nervous system, and a huge heart.
  • Skill-Focused: You look past the behavior to find the lagging skill and have the creativity to teach it in a way that sticks.
