Learn to Swim Instructor | Moana-Nui-A-Kiwa Pool and Leisure (Māngere)

Here at Auckland Council, our leisure centres play a key role in achieving our goal of getting Auckland to be the most active city in the world. And right now, we’re looking for a part-time Learn to Swim Instructor to join our Pool and Leisure Centre teams across Auckland to help achieve that goal!

This is a fantastic job where you don’t need any formal qualifications or experience to apply – just a passion to work with our diverse community while also making a difference! We'll provide the training you need to succeed in the role.

Based at Moana-Nui-A-Kiwa Pool and Leisure (Māngere), day-to-day you could expect to work on:

• Teaching people the basic principles of how to swim (we'll teach you how to do this!)
• Maintaining a fun, caring and safe environment for customers and visitors
• Being part of an amazing team serving your local community

This is a permanent part-time position. We would love to hear from those who can work 6 hours per week, working at least one weekday and one weekend shift.

He kōrero mōu: About you

You are a great swimmer and instructor, have a love of water, have exceptional customer service skills, and can communicate well with members of the public.

You don’t need any formal qualifications or experience.

If you do have a recognised swim teacher qualification or previous experience as a Swimming Instructor, that would be fantastic! However, we will provide full, comprehensive training. You must also be willing to complete First Aid training.

Pay rate: $27.80 /hr (Our employer Kiwisaver contribution is additional to the base salary offered.)
