The Opportunity
The Learning and Development Business Partner is responsible for designing and implementing training programs that foster a positive workplace culture and support the attraction, retention, and development of employees at all levels. NSPHA recognizes the importance of learning and development initiatives that enable staff to reach their full potential in support of organizational goals. Key responsibilities include developing and delivering leadership training programs, supporting employees through change, and maintaining career development and succession programs.
We are committed to being a workplace where everyone is welcomed, supported, respected, and valued. In partnership with Human Resources team members, this position implements and manages programs that promote positive employee learning and engagement experiences.
What You’ll Do
- Manage an organizational learning and development strategy that supports organizational goals and is informed by relevant metrics, innovative practices, diversity, equity, and inclusion principles.
- Conduct organizational learning needs assessments to identify skill and knowledge gaps and evaluate programs to assess the effectiveness of learning solutions.
- Maintain, deliver and evaluate the leadership development program, including learning pathways for new supervisors and experienced leaders.
- Develop and deliver engaging, evidence-based, and inclusive curricula and internal training using adult learning best practices and dynamic facilitation approaches.
- Serve as an internal facilitation resource for team meetings, retreats, staff events, and other organizational facilitation needs.
What We’re Looking For
Must Have
- Several years of progressive experience in Human Resources and/or Learning and Development in a similar role (e.g., Program Manager, L&D Manager).
- Excellent facilitation and presentation skills, with demonstrated knowledge of effective learning and development methodologies.
- Proficiency with e-learning platforms and tools, including Articulate 360 and Learning Management Systems (LMS).
- Demonstrated success designing, implementing, and evaluating learning and development programs.
- Solid understanding of adult learning principles and learning technologies.
- Well-developed leadership, communication, coaching and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to collaborate with and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Strong project leadership and organization skills
- Ability to support continuous improvement of organizational culture by following emerging trends and promoting employee engagement.
Nice to Have
- Completion of post-secondary education in Adult Education or a related field is preferred.
- Certification in one or more assessment tools (e.g., DiSC, StrengthsFinder, Myers Briggs) is preferred.
- Certified Training and Development Professional (CTDP) and/or Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) designation is considered an asset.
The Fine Print
An equivalent combination of training, education and experience may be considered.
This position requires a valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle. Some travel within Nova Scotia is required.
What We Offer
Salary: $84,926.23 – $110,404.64 annually (MC 21)
Schedule: 35-hour work week
