About the Role:
Curtin University's School of Population Health is seeking two Lecturers (Teaching and Research) to join our dynamic Psychology team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to our Undergraduate Psychology program while conducting impactful research within the Discipline of Psychology.
In this role, you will coordinate and teach units, supervise fourth-year research students (including Honours) and Higher Degree by Research (HDR) candidates, and contribute to curriculum development, course enhancement and academic decision-making.
You will join a well-established, collaborative team committed to excellence in teaching, research, supervision and student success. Your expertise will play a key role in shaping the future of psychology education and advancing research within our vibrant academic community.
The successful candidates will be expected to commence in January 2027.
Your responsibilities will include:
Teaching and Learning
- Develop and deliver engaging learning activities across various formats, including face-to-face, online, and global availabilities, ensuring they meet student needs and learning outcomes in undergraduate psychology topics.
- Collaborate on innovative curriculum design and material development, continually adapting to current and contemporary practice.
- Undertake administrative functions related to teaching, including unit coordination
- Assess student performance and provide constructive feedback for undergraduate, 4th year, and higher degree by research psychology students.
- Build a track record of peer-reviewed research publications in expertise and specialty areas within psychology.
- Develop a record of success for securing research income and show evidence of research impact and capacity commensurate with appointment level.
- Engage in academic service and uphold collegiality while managing internal roles efficiently.
- Actively participate in community and external activities related to the Discipline of Psychology and undergraduate psychology team, modelling professional behaviour consistent with university standards.
- A PhD in psychology.
- Demonstrated high level teaching skills, with experience in undergraduate psychology teaching, unit coordination, and 4th year / Honours supervision.
- A strong understanding of pedagogical theory and contemporary educational practice relevant to the discipline.
- Knowledge of foundational psychology topics and expertise in areas such as adult development and ageing, ethical practice in psychology, psychological disorders and treatments, therapeutic skills and counselling, and health & motivation.
- An emerging record of peer reviewed publications in high impact journals and success in competitive grant funding
- Communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills with a commitment to the development of a collegial and supportive working environment and the ability to interact with students and staff with cultural sensitivity.
- Demonstrated commitment to the application of relevant and applicable policies, procedures and legislation in the day-to-day performance of the functions of this position.
- As this is a continuing (permanent) role, you will require permanent work rights in Australia to be considered

We have 2 x full time, permanent (continuing) roles available, with a salary range between $118,308 - $140,147 (ALB) per annum, plus 17% superannuation and generous leave entitlements.
