The School of Arts and Humanities
The School of Arts and Humanities is one of the largest at ECU with diverse disciplines arranged into three clusters: Creative Humanities; Psychology, Counselling and Criminology; and Social Sciences, Social Work and Youth Work. The school has more than 140 academic and professional staff operating across three campuses, as well as teaching offshore in Sri Lanka, and is a leader in online education. The diversity of the school is a strength, enabling interdisciplinary research, a sustainable financial platform, and many opportunities for collaborations with industry and community.
About the Opportunity
The School of Arts and Humanities at Edith Cowan University is excited to welcome an enthusiastic and innovative practitioner - academic to join our teaching staff to focus on the delivery of the field placement programs in the Master of Social Work (Qualifying) and the Bachelor of Social Work.
You will join a team of experts in social work, community and human services, and youth work, who contribute to our well-established bachelor and graduate programs, as well as collaborating with colleagues in related disciplines in counselling and psychology. Your responsibilities will include developing and overseeing course content, teaching units, supporting students in placement, and supervising sessional academics.
Additional teaching in the Social Work undergraduate is likely.

About you
We are looking for a skilled academic with a MSW -
A mentor who is passionate about guiding students and inspiring the next generation of social work professionals.
Masters degree (preferably in social work) or equivalent
You will need to demonstrate, based on past achievement and potential for future development, that you can:
teach effectively using student-centred approaches that facilitate learning;
forge partnerships with industry and community to advance teaching and the work integrated learning space;
exercise leadership consistent with your level of appointment;
work productively and positively with colleagues in the school and university; and
eligibility for membership in AASW.
You will be expected to demonstrate personal attributes consistent with the University’s values of integrity, respect, rational inquiry, personal excellence, and courage.

You should highlight key examples of your experience and your capabilities: you do not need to address each criterion in turn.
