Lecturer, Business & Entrepreneurship - School Of Hmis

[What the role is]

This is a 2-year contract position Lecturer/Senior Lecturer, Business & Entrepreneurship (Creative Arts, Heritage and Culture) in the School of Humanities & Interdisciplinary Studies.

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:-

Curriculum development, course delivery (face-to-face/online) and project supervision for youth and/or adult learners in the following areas:

• Entrepreneurship and Enterprise in the Creative Economy

• Marketing & Audience Development in the Creative Economy

• The Arts and Technology

• Technology for Learning

• Lead and identify new opportunities, initiatives and collaborations with the industry, institutes of higher learnings & related agencies

• Supervise students during internships

• Be up to date with the latest developments in the arts sector, in the areas of business, entrepreneurship and technology

• Manage administrative work related to teaching and assigned projects

[What we are looking for]

Candidates should have prior experience in arts and culture, business, entrepreneurship or a related field and/or discipline. Candidates should be competent to develop, teach and provide leadership in at least 3 of the following areas:

• Creative Entrepreneurship & Enterprise

• Arts Marketing & Audience Development

• Cultural Economics

• Financial Management

Essential pre-requisites relating to years of experience, skills, knowledge and attributes

• Relevant qualifications in Arts Management, Business, Humanities, Social Sciences or equivalent

• Direct experience and a keen interest in the arts with business domains, particularly in the areas of entrepreneurship and enterprise

• Experience teaching and/or working with youths will be an advantage

• Experience in teaching communications related subjects and/or have IT skills will be an advantage

• An agile team player with good interpersonal and communication skills

• Project/time management and attention to detail
