Lecturer/ Senior Lecturer / Assistant Professor – Dietetics

LUNEX is a young and ambitious University of Applied Sciences in Luxembourg attracting students from Europe and beyond and offering high-quality and innovative teaching and learning in higher education and research.

We are expanding our team and are looking to recruit a capable, enthusiastic and motivated dietician to work in a Lecturer, Senior Lecturer, or Assistant Professor position (depending on qualifications and experience) in the field of Nutrition & Dietetics on a full-time, tenure-track basis.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The successful candidate will have an active role to our established team of international academics in the areas of teaching, curriculum development, quality enhancement, academic governance and research at LUNEX.

A main focus of professional activities will be the delivery of lectures and coordination of learning modules of a study programme in the field of Nutrition Fitness and Health. The position furthermore requires the development of and participation in interdisciplinary research activities. This position offers an excellent opportunity to take part in the shaping of a young & dynamic university with high ambitions in health, performance and management related education as well as research with international and multidisciplinary scope.

MUST-HAVE REQUIREMENTS

Candidates should have a Master degree in an area relevant to the position, a PhD in an area relevant to the position is considered and advantage.

Knowledge in Biomedical Sciences is considered essential. Particular area of interest are:

1. Nutrient Metabolism

2. Clinical Nutrition

3. Diet therapy

4. Dietary counselling

In rating competent applicants, the following criteria will be emphasised:

• Educational and clinical background in Dietetics is necessary for this position
• Ability to deliver learning modules and classes at under-graduate and post-graduate levels
• Research track record as evidenced by publications in relevant peer reviewed journals
• Proven excellence of teaching in higher education area
• Other documented qualifications relevant for the position (presentations at scientific events and/or congresses, public communications, ...)
• Good interpersonal skills and team management experience
• Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively to students using a variety of teaching methods, thereby enhancing the student experience
• High level of spoken and written English language skills (English is the language of tuition at LUNEX)
