Why this job is important

As Legal Counsel for our fast-growing India business, you’ll play a pivotal role in supporting our commercial success across India, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh. You’ll help us bring Kantar’s value to life for our clients and suppliers, ensuring we operate with integrity, compliance, and commercial acumen. You’ll be part of a collaborative, friendly team that values continuous learning and innovation.

What you’ll be doing

Act as a proactive legal partner to our business, advising on a wide range of commercial and contracting issues in a fast-paced environment.
Draft and negotiate commercial agreements with international and regional clients and suppliers.
Analyse legal and commercial risks, solve day-to-day legal issues, and build trusted advisor relationships across Kantar.
Contribute to evolving our ways of working, including sharing know-how and developing legal templates and playbooks.
Drive organisational alignment on privacy, IP, AI, and governance in commercial contracts and daily operations.

The skills & experience needed as Legal Counsel

LLB and/or degree, with 5+ years’ experience in a law firm or in-house, specialising in commercial transactions.
Strong drafting and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Knowledge of data privacy is a plus, but a willingness to learn is essential.
Commercial awareness and the ability to provide practical legal guidance.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively, managing multiple projects at once.
A passion for personal development and continuous improvement.
