Introduction:
  • Full-time, permanent
  • Based in Adelaide CBD
  • Work closely with operational leaders on major projects supporting Australia’s renewable energy future
  • Supportive national team, meaningful commercial exposure and flexibility to build your in-house legal career
Description:
Who Are CPP?

CPP is a leading high-voltage infrastructure provider, connecting renewable energy projects to Australia’s electricity grid.

As a member of Quanta Services, a Fortune 500 company ranked #192 on the NYSX, we specialise in the design, construction, commissioning, and maintenance of substations, transmission lines, wind farms, and battery storage systems.

Established in 1996, we’ve connected more wind farms and renewable batteries than any other company. With over 800 employees and offices in Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and Perth, we partner with Australia’s major transmission providers to deliver innovative, end-to-end solutions.

Join us in shaping the future of energy.

The Opportunity

This is an opportunity to step into a genuinely commercial, in-house Legal Counsel role embedded within a growing national business delivering complex infrastructure and renewable energy projects.

As part of CPP’s Legal & Corporate Services team, you’ll work closely with project and operational leaders across the business — not just reviewing contracts, but shaping how projects are structured, negotiated and delivered. You’ll be involved from early-stage tenders and contract negotiations through to live project support, giving you full lifecycle exposure rather than purely advisory work.

You will have access to a wider network of legal resources, through our local parent company, Quanta Services Australia, and ultimate US parent company, Quanta Services Inc. You’ll gain exposure to major infrastructure and renewable energy projects, with the opportunity to build a long-term in-house career while continuing to grow your technical and commercial capability.

This role is ideal for a lawyer looking to deepen their commercial impact. You’ll partner with Program Managers, Project Managers and engineers, providing pragmatic, solutions-focused legal advice that balances risk with project delivery outcomes. Whether you come from private practice or in-house, you will bring commercial judgement and the ability to turn legal advice into clear, practical guidance. This is a strong career-building opportunity to gain exposure to significant projects, deepen your understanding of construction and renewable energy, and learn within a supportive national team.

Skills and Experiences:
About You

To be successful in this role, you will possess:
A Bachelor of Laws and a Legal Practising Certificate

Over 3 years’ post-admission experience from a law firm or inhouse legal team

Background in construction, commercial, corporate, regulatory or infrastructure-related law

Commercial judgement, negotiation capability and a practical approach to balancing risk with project delivery outcomes

Strong communication skills and the ability to provide pragmatic legal advice to non-legal stakeholders across the business

Be rewarded at CPP.

At CPP, we value our people above all else. We’re dedicated to investing in and developing your talent to help you reach your full potential. By joining us, you’ll have the opportunity to work on industry-leading projects and access the latest technologies. We foster a culture of innovation and welcome fresh ideas – if you're ready to challenge the status quo, we want you to be part of our team.

Benefits include:
Above-market salary package with annual reviews
Annual bonus, discretionary based on individual and business performance
We offer flexible working options, with the ability to work from home
Access to study assistance for continuous development, and a strong focus on internal promotions to help you grow within

Up to 2 weeks of purchased leave
Choice between an iPhone or Samsung mobile
Generous employee referral program up to $4,000
