Legal Counsel

MediaWorks is looking for an enthusiastic and proactive lawyer to join our friendly and dynamic Auckland-based team as Legal Counsel. About the Role

As Legal Counsel, you'll provide legal support across MediaWorks' corporate and commercial operations. The work is varied and exciting, and we're committed to helping you upskill and grow in your role.

You'll advise on a broad range of legal matters, including:

• Commercial contracts, sales, and technology agreements
• Digital and licensing arrangements
• Sponsorships, partnerships, and agency trading agreements
• Copyright and intellectual property matters
• Commercial and property leasing
• Privacy and data protection
• Assisting with M&A transactions

This role is perfect for someone looking to transition from private practice into an in-house legal role. You'll work closely with the General Counsel and Senior Legal Counsel, while also gaining direct exposure to the Executive Team and Senior Leadership Team.

The position is full-time, with flexibility.

About You:

We're looking for a talented and commercially minded lawyer who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

• LLB degree with at least 3 years' PQE
• General corporate and commercial law experience
• Strong commercial contracts skill set
• Current NZ legal practising certificate (or eligibility to obtain one)
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Great time management and problem-solving abilities
• A pragmatic, business-focused approach
