Legal Nursing Assistant / Clinical Records Reviewer

About the Role

We are seeking a clinically experienced and detail-oriented professional to support a Legal Nurse Consultant in reviewing and analysing medical records for medico-legal cases.

This is a flexible, part-time role with variable hours (1–15 hours per week) depending on case workload. Hybrid working is available following initial training.

This position would suit a nurse l seeking flexible supplementary work.

Key Responsibilities

• Reviewing and organising medical records
• Creating clear, accurate medical chronologies
• Identifying missing records or inconsistencies
• Summarising clinical events in structured formats
• Assisting with case file preparation
• Maintaining strict confidentiality and GDPR compliance
• Using Microsoft Office and case management systems effectively

Essential Requirements

• Clinical qualification (Registered Nurse)
• Minimum 10 years’ clinical experience with at least 3 in an Irish healthcare environment.
• Strong understanding of medical terminology and documentation
• Excellent written English
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Strong IT skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, PDF handling, digital file organisation)
• Ability to work independently

Desirable

• Previous medico-legal experience
• Experience preparing chronologies
• Knowledge of GDPR and data protection requirements
• Experience working remotely

Working Arrangements

• Variable hours: 1-15 hours per week
• Hours offered on an ad hoc basis depending on case load
• Hybrid working available after initial training period
• Initial training will be provided

Contract Type

Part-time, fixed term employee on a variable-hours contract.
