Brian Duffy Solicitors are seeking to recruit a full-time Legal Secretary/Receptionist to join our busy practice in Portlaoise, Co. Laois. The ideal candidate will have previous experience working in a legal office and will be organised, professional and capable of managing a busy front-of-house role.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing the reception area, greeting clients and visitors in a professional and welcoming manner.
- Answering telephone calls and directing them to the appropriate staff member.
- Handling client queries and liaising with third parties where required.
- Diary management and scheduling appointments.
- Dictaphone typing and preparation of legal documents and correspondence.
- Managing incoming and outgoing post.
- Scanning, filing and maintaining organised client files (physical and electronic).
- General administrative support to solicitors and office staff.
Essential Skills and Qualifications
- 2+ years’ experience working in a legal office.
- Familiarity with legal case management systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook and general office IT systems.
- Excellent written and spoken English.
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and prioritise workload.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- A friendly, professional and proactive attitude towards clients and colleagues.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
