Description:
The opportunity.

This position directly supports our purpose and ensures members can count on us by ensuring the smooth progression of our member's home loan journey through timely settlement of approved loans, whilst meeting compliance obligations. While our support office is based in Melbourne, you will have the option to work within a permanent hybrid working model.

This specialist position is accountable for:

• Processing mortgage loan applications from approval to completion to meet settlement dates and members expectations.
• Processing discharge requests.
• Loan account variations.
• Liaising with Defence Bank solicitors, property valuers, and mortgage insurers to complete mortgage loan applications within agreed time frames.
• Liaising with Direct and Mobile lenders to obtain relevant information to achieve settlement deadlines.
• Complete required activities to ensure ongoing compliance with legislative requirements in accordance with relevant laws, regulations and Defence Bank policies.

Skills and Experiences:
About you.

You are proactive and innovative with a positive attitude. Self-sufficient, you can work independently while balancing multiple priorities.

You have:

• At least 2 years’ experience in a similar mortgage lending role.
• Process and/or procedure review experience.

Demonstrated experience or skills in:

• Building effective working relationships ensuring needs are met and expectations are exceeded.
• Communication (written and verbal).
• Completing administrative tasks with a focus on accuracy and quality at all times.
• Managing priorities, flexing where needed to ensure outcomes are met.
• Picking up new concepts quickly.
• Reviewing and improving processes.
• Using Microsoft Office to create reports.
