He angitūtanga: The opportunity

Ngā Pātaka Kōrero o Tāmaki Makaurau (Auckland Libraries) have a strong community focus and we are an extraordinary destination for the people of Auckland. Our Library & Council Service Assistant play a vital part within our library team, ensuring that our libraries within the UH-H&B South local board, provide a world-class customer experience that is second to none.

No two days are the same, you will greet and assist customers with a variety of queries from assisting customers to access library & council services, supporting with the delivery of programmes and events, digital troubleshooting, Wi-Fi, and general computer queries.

Many of our libraries are open 7 days a week so flexibility around working days, including weekends and late nights, is required. We are looking to fill a permanent part time opportunity x 22 hours per week based at the Albany Village Library. As part of this role, you will be expected to work across the libraries within the local boards, this includes: Albany Village Library and East Coast Bays Library

The ideal candidate will:

  • Be willing to help create a whānau environment where everyone works together to achieve team goals
  • Enjoy working with people from diverse ethnicities and backgrounds
  • Be a quick learner who would be able to assist people with technology queries
  • Love working with tamariki and can assist with programmes

Enjoy day-to-day frontline library service and the opportunity to connect directly with our library patrons.

Target salary: $57,824 – $65,000 (depending on skills and experience)
