St John's Primary School, Lambton, is currently seeking a Permanent Part-Time Library Assistant to join our dedicated team, commencing 13th October. This position offers 12 hours per week and is a wonderful opportunity to support student learning in a vibrant and welcoming school community.

Description:
POSITION DESCRIPTION

The School Library Assistant:
  • As a member of the library team, works to support teachers and students utilising Library facilities and resources
  • As a member of the school team, works to support nominated staff in the performance of their duties
Skills and Experiences:
EXPERIENCE/CRITERIA

  • Ability to articulate a clear understanding of and a personal commitment to Catholic Education and the mission of the Church through Catholic schools
  • Recent experience working in a school library including working knowledge of OLIVER cataloguing system
  • Knowledge of WHS requirements in a library setting
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to show initiative, work alone or as part of a team
  • A flexible approach to completion of tasks with frequent interruptions
QUALIFICATIONS

  • ALIA accredited qualification, preferably at the diploma level
  • Current paid NSW Working with Children Check (WWCC) number
  • Completion of anaphylaxis training
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

Salary is in accordance with New South Wales & Australian Capital Territory Catholic Systemic Schools Enterprise Agreement 2023.
