If you enjoy helping people as much as you enjoy reading and talking about books, this is the perfect role for you.

Based at the Takaka Memorial Library, this customer-facing role involves staffing the library service desk, assisting library users and supporting the children's programmes.

In this role you will be the first point of contact for many of our customers, you will provide support to the children's programme and outreach story time sessions to local preschools, so having a can-do attitude, enjoy working with children and providing excellent customer service is a must!

You will also:

• Be confident in using computers, the internet and mobile devices;
• Have strong attention to detail;
• Have good general knowledge and interest in books
• Be available to work 46 hours per fortnight (including school holidays and additional casual hours as needed).

This is a job share position with fortnightly hours:

Week 1: Monday-Saturday 9am to 1pm, except Thursday 9am to 5pm = 27 hours per week

Week 2: Tuesday -Wednesday 9am to 1pm, Thursday 9am to 5pm, Friday 10am to 2.30pm = 19 hours per week

We require the successful applicant to be available during the school holidays and to work additional casual hours as needed.
