Part-Time Library Clerk Children’s Department (17.5 hours) Sachem Public Library seeks an energetic staff member who is passionate about customer service for a position in our Children’s Department. Primary responsibilities: Make reminder calls for children’s programs. Multi-task in-person, phone and online requests simultaneously. Assist children’s with computer logins. Register patrons for programs with online software. Work collaboratively on library events and initiatives Assist library staff with special projects and programs as assigned. Support the library’s sustainability goals. The ideal candidate should possess: Excellent customer service skills and ability to interact with patrons. The ability to work well with others. Be self-motivated and a team player. Organizational skills and the ability to follow instructions. Ability to make simple mathmatical calculations. Working knowledge of basic computer software. Experience with Canva prefferred, but not required. Requirements: Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent. Schedule: Available mornings, afternoons, and evenings. Friday evenings required. Weekends required in rotation for a total of 17.5 hours weekly. Flexibility is a plus. Salary: $18.50 per hour.
