The Kōtui Library Service is a NZ wide consortium of NZ Public Libraries who share a Library Management and Discovery System. The National Library has an exciting opportunity for someone who already has experience working with a library management system and is passionate about library.

The Library Systems and Applications Specialist role is based at the National Library, Casebrook, Christchurch and reports to the Lead Library Systems and Application Specialist. The team have some flexibility within their week to work from home if that is preferred and aremote working solution may be negotiated. This is a 2-year appointment. The team’s primary focus is on the Kōtui Library services provided to the Kōtui membership which is currently 41 District and City Councils throughout New Zealand.:
You should apply if you have:
- relevant experience in supporting a Library system and tools to benefit user experience in a library environment.
- the ability to anticipate and mitigate technical issues in a proactive manner
- strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- the ability to remain calm under pressure and manage multiple tasks
- excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- the ability to work collaboratively with others to enhance team performance.
- Library and /or IT qualifications and / or work-related experience
You will be joining a team of 12 colleagues, in Christchurch, who are enthusiastic to continue the work of Kōtui with NZ Public Libraries.
The National Library sits within the Te Haumi – External Partnerships division of the Department’ of Internal Affairs. This branch is the epicentre of information management, culture and heritage.
