Job Classification: Non-Exempt (hourly) Reports to: Loan Servicing Manager

Work Schedule: 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday Location: Topeka Office

with overtime when required

Organization: Community National Bank was founded in 1984 by a group of individuals in Nemaha County, Kansas with diverse local ownership with decisions made on a local level.

Position mission:

This position is responsible for coordinating the processing and review of daily loan payments. Daily balancing of internal control accounts, loan data review and reporting, answering phones, processing of escrows distributions which include insurance and taxes. This position serves as part of the quality control team.

Major Duties:

  • Assist with the loan compliance function
  • Manage loan insurance and loan payments timely for all loan types
  • Process and maintain system accuracy in relation to loan payoffs and releases
  • Reconciliation of daily logs, entries and internal accounts balancing
  • Assist in answering phone calls and answering customer questions
  • Complete Loan Review Checklists on New, Renewed and Maintained Loans in Core.
  • Complete monthly reporting for Loan Committee and Board as needed
  • Set up, review, clear and report documentation and policy exceptions in software
  • Assist in scanning and maintaining insurance for escrow.
  • Prepare and mail escrow correspondence to customers.
  • Verify and process payments for all escrow related transactions (i.e. hazard, flood, mortgage insurance, tax etc.)
  • Verifying tax or insurance lines are accurately identified within the servicing system for both escrowed and non-escrowed loans.
  • Coordinate the payment of taxes, verifying amounts, balancing general ledger and accounts.
  • Make outbound calls to customers and various insurance companies and/or agents to obtain necessary information and documentation.
  • Understand and be knowledgeable of all assigned systems (FiServ, Suntel, Lereta,).
  • Review files, records, and other document to obtain information and respond to requests.
  • Compute, record, and proofread data and other information such as records or reports.
  • Identify and enhance efficiencies within department.
  • Assist in mortgage audit preparation.

General Responsibilities:

  • Support CNB’s strong relationship culture through quality customer service and superior product knowledge.
  • Provide superior customer service by resolving problems efficiently and responding timely.
  • Identify and implement solutions to problems in general and urgent matters.
  • Actively seek to add and enhance knowledge regarding developments and current trends in the industry.
  • Seek counsel of supervisor on issues as appropriate.
  • Work collaboratively with staff to maintain a team environment.
  • Flexible to accept additional assignments as requested by leadership.
  • Cross train for other positions to cover when necessary.
  • Professionalism while representing CNB (onsite, professional and community events and via communications).
  • Participate and attend meetings as requested.
  • Recommend policies and procedures as it relates to area of responsibility.
  • Timely responses to inquiries for information to customers, staff and vendors.
  • Answer telephone calls and provide a prompt response.
  • Follow CNB’s policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required- Associate degree in accounting, finance, or business preferred
  • Familiar with computers and banking applications/software.
  • Must possess the ability to work under pressure, handle multiple tasks and be a self-starter.
  • The ability to prioritize is essential.
  • Math, problem solving, research and organizational skills required.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, time management skills, and analytical skills and the ability to be a self-starter
  • Strongly Detail oriented and ability to self-audit work to ensure accuracy.
  • Requires being reliable, responsible, and dependable to fulfill the obligations of this role.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft office (word, excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described are representative to those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to stand and sit for extended lengths of time, read computer screens, talk on the phone, unpack and move supplies up to fifty (50) pounds, reach, kneel, bend, climb and balance. Vision abilities required for this job include close vision.

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the work environment is primarily a professional, deadline driven environment with interaction of internal team members and external customers. Noise level in the work environment can be loud.
