Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Charge Nurse to join our healthcare team. The Charge Nurse will play a critical role in overseeing patient care, managing nursing staff, and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations. This position requires strong leadership skills, clinical expertise, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in various healthcare settings and a passion for providing high-quality patient care.
Responsibilities
- Supervise nursing staff and coordinate patient care activities to ensure optimal outcomes.
- Conduct patient assessments and develop individualized care plans based on clinical needs.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring adherence to protocols.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to enhance patient care quality and safety.
- Provide guidance and support to nursing staff in critical situations, including triage and emergency response.
- Monitor patients' vital signs and respond promptly to changes in their condition.
- Educate patients and their families on health management, treatment options, and preventive care.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery within the facility.
Experience
Candidates should possess the following qualifications:
- Proven experience in critical care, acute care, or long-term care settings.
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks is preferred.
- Experience working with diverse populations, including those with developmental disabilities, Alzheimer's disease, dementia, or other memory-related conditions.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), medication administration, and basic life support techniques.
- Strong understanding of patient assessment techniques and vital sign monitoring.
- Experience in specialized areas such as pediatrics, geriatrics, hospice care, or emergency medicine is advantageous.
