Machine Operator – Excavation & Landscaping

Birchview Excavating is a full-service excavating company specializing in high-quality landscaping projects around the lakes—from mainland to island work—serving Peterborough and the surrounding area. We take pride in quality craftsmanship, teamwork, and getting the job done right.

We are currently seeking a skilled and reliable Machine Operator to join our growing team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, takes pride in operating equipment safely and efficiently, and thrives in an outdoor, team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate excavation and landscaping equipment such as excavators, skid steers, loaders, and other machinery
• Perform grading, trenching, site preparation, and landscaping-related tasks
• Work closely with crew members and project leads to complete jobs safely and efficiently
• Conduct daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance
• Follow all safety procedures and job site regulations
• Assist with general labour tasks when required

Qualifications

• Previous experience operating excavation or landscaping equipment
• Strong understanding of job site safety practices
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented
• Willingness to work in varying outdoor conditions
• Valid driver’s license (AZ/DZ an asset, but not required)
