Maintenance Director Job
The Maintenance Director is responsible for overseeing the overall maintenance, safety, and physical condition of the facility. This role ensures that the building, equipment, and grounds are properly maintained to provide a safe, comfortable, and compliant environment for residents, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily maintenance operations, including repairs, preventative maintenance, and facility upkeep.
- Ensure the building, equipment, and systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical) are functioning properly.
- Maintain compliance with all safety regulations, fire codes, and local, state, and federal requirements.
- Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs.
- Supervise, train, and schedule maintenance staff.
- Coordinate and manage outside vendors, contractors, and service providers.
- Conduct routine inspections to identify and resolve maintenance or safety issues.
- Maintain records of repairs, inspections, and compliance documentation.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies.
- Oversee groundskeeping, snow removal, and general exterior maintenance.
- Manage department budget, supplies, and inventory.
Qualifications:
- Previous maintenance leadership experience, preferably in healthcare, long-term care, or a similar setting.
- Strong knowledge of building systems, safety regulations, and preventative maintenance practices.
- Ability to lead a team and manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills.
- Hands-on experience with tools, equipment, and repair work.
- Reliable and able to respond to on-call or emergency situations as needed.
Schedule & Requirements:
- Full-time position with on-site presence required.
- Flexibility to work occasional weekends or extended hours as needed.
