Maintenance Electrician

Pat the Baker has been an Irish household brand since 1953 and Irish Pride being the 6th largest Irish manufactured grocery brand in the retail market in Ireland. Pat the Baker/ Irish Pride are now looking to expand their team.

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance Technician based in Granard.

Whilst your core skill is mechanical or electrical candidates must be cross skilled, have hands on experience and a strong understanding of an automated environment. This is a key maintenance role and you must be flexible and adaptable to the needs of the bakery.

Key Accountabilities will include:

• Technical support for process, handling and packaging equipment.
• Technical support for plant utilities and services including steam boilers, water treatment, refrigeration and compressed air.
• Update the Maintenance Management System including stores transactions and recording work carried out in both planned maintenance and breakdowns.
• Assist in the design and installation of new equipment and expansion projects.
• Familiarity of legislative regulations in terms of Engineering, health and safety and environment and ensuring these regulations are adhered to within the engineering department.
• Control of contractors and acting as a site point of contact when required.

Skills and Qualifications Required:

• Previous experience within the FMCG industry.
• Experience with PLC’s, SCADA systems and other industrial control systems.
• Knowledge of mechanical maintenance.
• Computer literate.
• Proven ability of electrical and mechanical diagnostics and troubleshooting, along with process awareness.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast paced manufacturing environment.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work as part of a team.
• High standard of workmanship.
