Overview:

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:00am - 3:30pm

Purpose Statement/Position Summary: The Maintenance Helper I assists in ensuring the smooth operation of hospital facilities by supporting skilled craftsmen in various maintenance tasks. With a focus on preventive maintenance, inspections, and minor repairs, this role contributes to the overall functionality, safety, and aesthetics of the hospital environment. Performs preventive, corrective maintenance, and project-related duties of a recognized skilled craft or trade while assisting a journey-level carpenter, electrician, plumber, HVAC, or maintenance mechanic. Typically specializes in one or more of the construction craft trades such as Carpentry, Electrical, Plumbing, or Refrigeration, and works at a skill level equivalent to that of an advanced apprentice. Performs routine Preventive Maintenance which does not require the skills of a journey-level craft technician on various pieces of hospital equipment and systems.

Minimum Qualifications/Work Experience: 0-1 Year of experience in residential or industrial maintenance experience.

Education/Licensure/Certification: HS Diploma/ GED equivalent.

Final determination of a successful candidate’s starting pay will vary based on a number of factors, including, but not limited to education and experience within the job or the industry. The pay scale listed for this position is generally for candidates that meet the specified qualifications and requirements listed on this specific job description. Additional pay may be determined for those candidates that exceed these specified qualifications and requirements.
