Mount Clear College is nestled into an idyllic bush setting on the edge of the Woowookarung Regional Park, 6 kilometres from the centre of Ballarat. Students are able to engage with real-world STEM applications, see science, technology, engineering and mathematics at work and imagine a future where they are creating the solutions to 21st century challenges.
Our Colleges outstanding Performing Arts program is highly regarded both within Victoria and also internationally. Our vibrant and innovate program includes Music, Singing, Dance and Drama, as well as many combinations of these disciplines, and we utilise the Musical Futures Program within the classrooms. Students are involved in Performing Arts from Year 7 and can pursue their performing arts pathway by continuing through VCE and VET in their senior schooling. Students are provided numerous opportunities to participate in the Performing Arts outside of their curriculum, including our annual School Production (Musical), the Victorian State School Spectacular, Dance clubs, plus a wide variety of Music ensembles. We are very proud of our Performing Arts students and their accomplishments both whilst at secondary school and their achievements after leaving our College.
Our modern buildings and facilities, including our state-of-the-art Technology Centre, refurbished 300 seat Theatre, Visual Arts and Science Hubs, and Senior and Junior Student Study Centres create an innovative and dynamic learning areas for our students and staff.

Selection Criteria
SC1 Capacity to undertake routine support tasks in facilities within a school environment.
SC2 Demonstrated capacity to communicate effectively with the Facilities Manager, the Leadership team, staff, contractors and members of the school community.
SC3 Demonstrated proficiency in the use tools and equipment as relevant to the position and an understanding of Occupational Health and Safety.
SC4 Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and collaboratively with facilities team members.
SC5 A commitment to professional learning and growth.
Role
Attendance during school holidays would be preferred and can be negotiated with the successful applicant.
An education support class position at this range will perform tasks that are carried out in accordance with guidelines, accepted practice, and school policy under supervision and direction. This may include coordination of other education support class staff within the work area or educational program.
An education support class position supports the educational services being provided to students but must not include duties of a teacher as defined in clause 2.6.1 of the Education and Training Reform Act 2006 (Vic) or its successor.
A role at this range may include:
- Specific support tasks to achieve outcomes. Typically, this will involve accountability for a single function, (e.g. ensuring data is properly maintained) or the co-ordination of a work area under the direction of the principal or a manager.
- Technical tasks that require a sound knowledge of basic technical and/or scientific principles that are used to develop and adapt work methods and make judgements where there are clear guidelines and limited options. Routine technical support in libraries, science, and information technology would be typical examples.
An education support class position at this range commencing at the base will initially be limited to undertaking routine tasks that are carried out under close supervision and direction. Work that carries some degree of independence will generally involve a limited number of tasks performed on a regular basis where priorities are clear, procedures are well established, and direction is readily available. Subject to any specific qualification and/or training requirement, an education support class employee employed in this range may be progressively required to undertake coordination, specialised student/teacher support tasks, or technical tasks as experience in the role is gained.
Responsibilities
Duties include but are not limited to:
1. Routine maintenance tasks such as cleaning of split system filters, heating, changing light globes, repairs to tapware, unblocking toilets, essential fire services, pest control, painting, minor plaster repairs, make safe / measure broken windows, assist with minor building projects and furniture repairs, gutter and drain cleaning, repairing and replacing locks, facilities audits and department inspections including workplace inspections.
2. Support management of Key system
3. Safely move furniture and equipment
4. Minor cleaning
5. Ensure storage facilities are organised, clean and tidy
6. Work independently with confidence and initiative, including prioritising workload. Operate in a professional and courteous manner respecting confidentiality of the school community
7. Learn the facilities ticketing system and prioritise and respond to issues in a timely manner, perform basic record keeping
8.Comply with the Schools and Department of Education Policies and Procedures
9.Testing and Tagging
10. Other tasks as directed by the Principal, Facilities Manager and Business Manager
