Description:
The Maintenance Support Officer role supports and helps coordinate the delivery of Argyle Housing’s asset repairs, maintenance and upgrade services by providing operational and administrative support to the organisation, and a high-quality frontline customer service to our clients and broader stakeholders.

Maintenance Support Officers work as part of the Assets Team and provide the following services:

  • Direct contact with our clients and customers to receive, record and communicate with them on their requests & issues and to seek feedback regarding our services.
  • Triage and action issues and works (within business rules and in consultation with other staff)
  • Work with Maintenance Officers and Contractors (and within business rules and in consultation with other staff) to task and coordinate the completion of works including vacant properties
  • Provide daily operational support and scheduling to enable Maintenance Officers to maximise their effectiveness in the field
  • Work within our systems to raise, monitor, update, progress and close-out Call Logs, Work Orders, Invoices and any other relevant information
  • Carry-out general administrative tasks that support the team’s and organisation’s needs
  • Carry-out other tasks (within the roles level of responsibility) that support the team’s and organisation’s needs
All roles within Argyle Housing are to be performed under the principle of “One Argyle” and with a commitment to client service delivery foster the approach of ‘no wrong door’.

Skills and Experiences:
  • Foundational knowledge of trades and the types of work they undertake
  • Cert IV in Social Housing (desirable).
  • Up to date knowledge of relevant tenancy and housing legislation as it relates specifically to repairs and maintenance.
  • Knowledge of social housing policies and procedures.
  • Sound understanding of social and community issues impacting on social and affordable housing clients.
  • Sensitivity and understanding of cultural and socio-economic characteristics.
  • Knowledge of social housing policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrate collaborative, cohesive interpersonal and communication skills, both verbally and written.
  • Ability to engage with team members at all levels of the organisation.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgement.
  • Sound understanding of social and community issues impacting on social and affordable housing clients.
  • Sensitivity and understanding of cultural and socio- economic characteristics.
  • Sound understanding of social and community housing or community services industry (desirable).
  • Current driver’s licence
